Team Defence Information (TD-Info) Canada (TDIC) is established as a neutral, industry-funded, and not-for-profit collaboration engine. Its primary mission is to unify the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND), the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), prime integrators, SMEs, and academia to move from fragmented innovation to integrated, through-life capability. Unlike traditional trade bodies, TDIC operates as a flat, agile, and practical platform. It is designed to be demand-led, responding directly to signals from DND/CAF while ensuring all activities are aligned with industry revenue streams and tangible sectoral outcomes.

End State:Securing Freedom of Action
By fostering a Shared Industry Perspective, TDInfo Canada helps inform, shape, and prioritize strategic defence sector investments. Our collaborative tasks deliver dual-use technological solutions that build robust industrial resilience. Through assured domestic supply and optimized support, we increase force availability, provide operational commanders with true freedom of action, and reinforce a credible national deterrent.

From Policy to Performance: Delivering Sovereign Capability Through Collaborative Execution
Unify the Department of National Defence (DND), the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Prime Integrators, SMEs, and Academia into a collaborative “Safe Space.” Together, we move beyond fragmented innovation to deliver integrated, through-life national capability.

  • Demand-Led: Driven directly by operational signals from DND/CAF.
  • Industry-Aligned: Grounded in sustainable commercial revenue streams and tangible sectoral outcomes.
  • Execution-Focused: Operating as a flat, agile, and practical platform—not an advocacy or lobbying body.

Cross-Cutting Enablers of Defence Capability
We break down institutional silos to focus on the four critical pillars underpinning modern sovereign defence:

  • ⚡ Operational Energy Transition: Shifting from fuel-centric logistics to resilient, alternative expeditionary power and Arctic sustainability architectures.
  • 📦 Resilient Supply Chains: Mapping dependencies, securing critical materials, and securing the domestic capacity required for a modern “Maker Mandate.”
  • ⚙️ Optimized Through-Life Support (ISS): Transforming lifecycle engineering and maintenance to maximize platform readiness and asset availability.
  • 📊 Data-Driven Decision Making: Establishing the shared digital backbones, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and information standards needed for modern allied interoperability.

The 20-Week Sprint Framework
We do not produce static white papers. We build operational prototypes and validated frameworks through a fast-paced, iterative delivery engine.

  1. Weeks 1–4: Strategic Discovery & Problem Definition – Unpacking the DND/CAF demand signal.
  2. Weeks 5–12: Research & Industry Co-Design – Engaging Primes, SMEs, and technical experts in a pre-competitive “Safe Space.”
  3. Weeks 13–16: Integration & Testing – Building out data models, supply chain maps, or process prototypes.
  4. Weeks 17–20: Outbrief & Ministerial Output – Handing over practical, scalable solutions to defence leadership.

TD-Info Reference Documents

To support our community of practice and accelerate the delivery of sovereign capability, Team Defence Information Canada maintains a curated library of reference materials. This repository bridges allied strategy with practical execution, providing immediate access to foundational digital engineering blueprints, including our 2025 Vision and Digital Twin models, alongside comprehensive sustainability and circularity roadmaps derived from mature UK and international Defence frameworks. These documents serve as baseline templates to help our members, primes, and SME associates align, innovate, and execute against Canada’s strategic defense priorities.
