About Phil Williams
Phil Williams has been Managing Director of Team Defence Information (TD-Info) since 2015, following 20 years in AeroSystems Engineering with the UK’s Royal Air Force (RAF) and a decade in business development roles within aerospace/defence companies.
He also chairs the Integrated Product Support Council, the pan USA/European body that develops through life support specifications under the auspices of the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) and the Aerospace Industries Association of the USA. Phil also runs the UK’s Joint Information Standards Co-ordination Team and participates in the NATO data exchange working group.
Phil’s military and commercial experience leads to a view that optimised delivery of operational capability requires successful collaboration between military, civil service and industry – the basis of the Whole Force concept, or “Team Defence”.
Away from the office, and aren’t we all these days, Phil continues to play 5-a-side football much to the disbelief and amusement of his wife and team mates!
About Sue Russell
Sue has worked as Office and Finance Manager on a consultancy basis since October 2002. Her role includes event organisation and management, membership management, website maintenance and administration, financial management and accounting, graphics/design work for publications/event promotion, communcations and marketing.
Sue is also Office Manager for DAMA UK and has a similar role; in addition she is Company Secretary and Treasurer for DAMA UK. Sue also enjoys organising social events for both organisations and externally under her own company name. Sue mainly works from her home office.
About Lindsay Ashton
Lindsay has over 20 years experience managing all aspects of end-to-end supply chain across several sectors including FMCG and Defence .
Lindsay’s operational and planning background, combined with her Strategic Supply Chain and Business Management acumen ensures she is able to offer practical and value add solutions in any operating sector.
Lindsay is currently in her final year, studying towards becoming a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply with CIPS and was a winner at the Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards.
About Graham Smith
Graham has a BSc (Hons) in IT and Computing. Having served 28 years in the Royal Air Force as a Logistics Officer specialising in Supply Chain, IT and mathematical modelling, he now works as an independent consultant.
He was heavily involved in Tornado Partnered Support contract development, representing the customer while adding value across many work streams. He has subsequently been employed as the military Supply Chain specialist in the Project Team.
With an aptitude for IT, he has been involved in the analysis, production and implementation of small systems as well as providing SME input into larger projects such as BIWMS.
He also served 4 years with Logistic Research & Modelling Organisation running the Fast Jet Supply Chain Optimisation Team responsible for recommending maintenance policy, scales and procurement levels.
A keen sportsman, Graham has been forced to retire from playing football, hockey and skiing due to the ravages of time and injuries, but remains an avid armchair supporter. He is also a DIY enthusiast with a particular interest in carpentry. However, married with 2 young children he finds he has little time to indulge these passions.
About Steve Green
Driving Defence CRM, circular economy, sustainability and energy transition initiatives to strengthen UK sovereign capability and supply chain resilience.
Steve analyses how global trends are shaping the future of conflict and what this means for engineering and logistics. His work explores how dual-purpose, innovative support concepts can strengthen the strategic base, enhance supply resilience, and ensure freedom of action on operations. Drawing on themes such as advanced manufacturing, digital engineering, robotics and automation, AI, future test and evaluation, self-sufficiency, and circularity, Steve helps characterize emerging challenges and identify proven approaches. Through collaborative efforts, he supports the shaping and prioritization of IRE investment to rapidly assess, develop, and scale impactful solutions Steve is the Research and Innovation Lead.

About Luca Leone
Luca works with TD-Info as an independent consultant. Beginning his career with Morgan Advanced Materials as an aerospace engineer, he quickly moved into Business Development and Project Management and built extensive experience of MOD procurement and the defence and aerospace markets.
Luca has chaired the Defence Export Focus Group and sat as advisor on several other boards on behalf of ADS Group, publishing the International Defence Market Strategy in 2016. Luca now works with Defence and Security organisations building Business Development, Bid Management and Project strategies.
About Leyton Lark
Leyton began his career as an engineer with Rolls Royce. He has a BSc (Hons) in engineering from Kingston upon Thames and is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Institution on Mechanical Engineers, and of the Royal Aeronautical Society. He has studied business and management in both the UK and USA and has a Masters in Business Administration from Loughborough University.
He works predominantly in Aerospace and Defence and, in a twenty four year career with Rolls Royce, held senior management positions in procurement, supply chain and general management leading operational improvement and strategic change across a range of businesses. He worked as a consultant for Capgemini for five years gaining further experience in both the public and private sector including the UK MoD.

About Darin Tudor
Darin served in the RAF for 10 years as an aircraft technician working firstly on the Hercules and then Harrier Jump Jets with Number 1 (Fighter) Squadron, post the services he worked for an SME which was then bought by a multi–international group and he went on to join their leadership Team before progressing his career to work for Venture Capitalists eventually become Managing Director of the 54th fastest growing company in the UK. Coventry University recognised the successful business model he applied, and he also became their part time Entrepreneur in Residence helping students and staff alike.

About Ciaran Dodd
Ciaran specialises in training ASD-STE100 Simplified Technical (STE) and plain English. She is:
- an ASD-approved STE trainer,
- the UK’s member on the STE Maintenance Group, and
- chair of the STE Support Team UK.
She supports UK contributions to the ASD S-Series of Integrated Product Support specifications. She is always looking for ways to make communication clear, accurate and concise, and delivers STE training for TD-Info.
Ciaran started her training career at Rolls-Royce plc, which is where she became involved in training all aspects of writing, including STE. After leaving the organisation, Ciaran set up her training business specialising in interpersonal and written communication. She has extensive experience of working with major names in engineering, particularly in the defence, aerospace, and automotive industries. Since joining Team Defence Information in 2020, Ciaran has been the UK member on the STE Maintenance Group, on the S6000T Steering Committee and other committees supporting the production and training of the ASD S-Series. She writes a quarterly column on standards for the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators and speaks on STE and the S-Series. When not at work, Ciaran enjoys travelling or hill-walking with her Border Collie.
About Eion Bailey
Eion is an experienced Defence strategy and business development professional having worked both with multi-national corporations and privately owned small and medium enterprises. Eion followed a career in Rolls-Royce working in several senior strategic roles, including working for the Foreign Office and overseas. He has also worked for several small businesses leading all aspects of strategy and business development.
Eion has a deep understanding of working with Defence and understanding complex problems. He is experienced in networking, organisational restructuring and working with complex cross functional teams. He has a Masters in Business Administration.
Eion is a keen golfer, cyclist and sports fan.

About Julian Dayment
Julian is an experienced Defence support specialist. Following an initial career in gas turbine maintenance Julian moved into supportability analysis and consultancy performing roles including supportability engineer, Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) manager, support service solution architect, business development, and managing director.
After 20 years of maintenance and supportability engineering work, over the last 15 years Julian has specialised in the design of long-term performance-based support service contracts (across land, sea, and air domains) for complex equipment working with defence companies such as BAE Systems, Leonardo, Rolls-Royce and Thales, Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) and the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD). Julian also has extensive experience of support modelling techniques and tools.
Julian has a deep understanding of support and support related standards. This includes Def-Stan 00-600 (and 00-60), MIL-STD-1388 (1A & 2B), Def-Stan 00-40 (and associated standards), the ASD IPS S-Series, STEP AP239 (PLCS) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).

About Andy Whatman
Andy is the Team Defence Information Lead and Co-Chair for both the MODCloud Working Group and the Trading Forum. He also manages Member Acquisition and Relationships/Member Retention.
He has 15+ years’ experience in the Defence and Aerospace Sector and has also worked across numerous other verticals, covering Business Development, Sales, Service Delivery, Commercial Management and Systems Integration across multiple industries. He has broad experience managing large and complex operational teams, delivering innovative Digital support and services solutions.
He Co-Chairs the MODCloud Support Group, bringing together the MOD, Industry Prime Suppliers, Technology Services providers and SME’s, to facilitate Industry participation in the utilisation of Digital Cloud solutions across the ecosystem, aligned to MOD’s Digital Backbone and Cloud strategy. Andy also Chairs the Trading Forum, bringing together the MOD and the Industry Supplier Community to maximise the benefits of Procurement Services.
Before joining Team Defence Information, Andy was the Head of Capgemini’s Defence business, delivering a portfolio of Category A solutions, primarily centred around the MOD DECS Procurement services, as well as multiple Digital solutions as part of the portfolio of services.
Andy is a keen cyclist, combining a passion for cycling, nature and the canal network of the West Midlands into some great days out.
He also does Pet Therapy Charity work with his dogs, mainly working with young people with mental health challenges, as well as Universities and the Sense Charity.

About Andy Corbett
Andy has held leadership roles in Texaco and the Volvo Franchise network as well as senior level leadership positions in two UK PLC’s, most recently as Group ICT and Cyber Security Director for one of the UK’s most innovative Defence, Energy, Space and Aviation businesses. As well as joining TD Info, he has also set up his own consultancy, delivering advice on Cyber Security, Cyber Awareness and Business System Planning, especially to SME’s where cost-effective solutions are critical. For Team Defence, Andy is facilitator for the Information Security Forum and the Commodity Usage Principals and Assurance (CUPA), Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), and Microsoft 2365 (M3645) Working Groups.

About Stu Olden
Stu has extensive experience of delivering commercial benefit across a wide range of technical sectors, with specialist knowledge in the defence, aerospace and off high way markets. Since completing 26 years service in the Army (REME), where he worked across a range of operational, support and procurement roles, Stu has held senior positions in industry in both consultant engineering and product delivery organisations, securing and supporting the successful delivery of complex & high value technology projects. He has a strong network developed during his career in the armed services, public and private sectors and is a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Engineering and Technology. Stu most recently worked as a Senior Commercial Manager for Williams Advanced Engineering, building their adjacent sector business area and now runs his own business supporting micro & SME organisations define their value proposition and increase their revenue streams through the exploitation of their technology. Out of work Stu enjoys spending time with his family, cycling and gardening. He is a keen allotment holder, and dabbles in the art of woodwork when he has any spare time.

About Adrian Page
Adrian is a TDI programme management Subject Matter Expert (SME). Over his 48 year career Adrian has worked within the Submarine Division of the MOD. In addition, Adrian has held positions with Engage Technical Solution, Motorola Telecommunication, Rank Xerox, Dupont Electronics and Rolls Royce (Engine Division) operating in a variety of lead roles ranging from; Business Development Consultant, Manufacturing Operations and Global Outsourcing, Engineering, Business Strategy, Supply Chain and Professional Services.
About Nigel Jones
Nigel is an independent adviser and researcher on the human, technological and organisational dimensions of information and cyber environments. His work spans the private and public sectors in business and conflict contexts, including supporting board-level executives in data, information and cyber as strategic risk. He has conducted independent reviews of security regulation and strategies relating to cyber physical systems and secure software development. In the context of broader security and conflict, he has worked in several conflict areas. This has involved strategic communications, counter disinformation and behaviour change. He is a visiting fellow at King’s College London, Department of Defence Studies, where he supports defence education. Nigel is co-chair of the International Cybersecurity Education Collaborative, formed in partnership between the US National Cyber Training and Education Centre and CSE Connect, the UK cyber security education network. He is a Fellow of the BCS (the Chartered Institute for IT) and the Royal Geographical Society. His recent publications include Cyber Security: Threats and Responses for Government and Business (Reprinted 2023 by Bloomsbury)and as one of a number of international contributors to the Sage Handbook of Propaganda (2019) and the Sage Handbook of Political Marketing (2025).

About Jim Scott
Strategic Consultant with 40+ years’ experience across UK Defence, Government, Academia and Industry. Proven track record in delivering strategic direction, shaping national defence programmes, and influencing senior stakeholders across the MOD, NATO, US DoD, and Industry.
Recognised thought leader in emergent technologies and trusted advisor on complex strategic and operational challenges. Skilled at supporting critical Government Defence programmes, 26 years with Lockheed Martin UK, I also served in the Royal Navy for 22 years.
About Allan Goody
Allan Goody completed a full career as a RAF Engineer Officer retiring as an Air Commodore. Half his appointments were on Fast Jet Squadrons, at Stations, and at Group and Command level while half were in in acquisition at A&AEE, and MOD deputy IPT leader and Chief Engineer for the Nimrod MRA4. He is a graduate of the RAF Staff College with a MA in Defence Studies and the NARO Defence College in Rome. His final appointment was as Director Training Capability in MOD for implementation of the Defence Training Review. Allan has always been active in ILS/IPS for 35 years as the first ILS Manager for RAF aircraft, MD of TFD Europe, President of TFD Global and co-founded the UK Chapter of the Council of Logistics Engineering Professionals
About Mike Puckett
Michael Puckett is a highly accomplished Managing Director, Board Adviser and business leader with more than four decades of executive experience spanning defence, security, technology, engineering, facilities management and government services. Over the course of his career, he has built a reputation for delivering business transformation, profitable growth, operational excellence and strategic leadership across complex national and international organisations. Having progressed from an Electronics Design Engineer at Racal Defence Radar and Displays to senior executive and board-level leadership positions, Michael combines deep technical understanding with extensive commercial, operational and strategic expertise. His career includes senior leadership roles with G3 Systems, Interserve, QinetiQ, Amey, Comax and Serco, where he has held responsibility for major business units, large-scale programmes, international operations and full profit and loss accountability.
As Managing Director of G3 Systems, Michael led the UK and Qatar operations, reporting directly to the parent company’s CEO and COO. He successfully developed and executed a strategic recovery and growth plan, created a business development pipeline exceeding $350 million, led acquisition assessments and delivered significant commercial improvements through programme restructuring and claims resolution. Prior to this, Michael served as Director of Services for Central Government and Defence at Interserve, where he was responsible for operational performance, strategic growth and business development across major government and defence contracts. His leadership included oversight of opportunities ranging from £1.5 million to £1.5 billion and direct engagement with senior government, military and industry stakeholders.
Michael has also demonstrated a strong track record in innovation and technology commercialisation. As Managing Director of Salus Encryption Limited, he led the development and promotion of next-generation encryption technology, securing strategic partnerships and presenting the technology to senior defence and security organisations, including GCHQ.
Throughout his executive career, Michael has successfully led business turnarounds, organisational restructuring, acquisition activity, governance programmes and growth initiatives. Notable achievements include transforming a loss-making QinetiQ division from a £2 million loss into a £2 million profit, leading the integration of a £20 million acquisition and contributing to strategic pursuits valued at over £1 billion.
Today, Michael operates through Mike P Partnerships LLP, providing strategic advisory services to organisations operating across defence, security, technology and government markets. He also serves as an adviser to several organisations, supporting leadership teams on strategy, growth, commercial development, technology adoption and organisational transformation. Michael is recognised for his ability to combine strategic vision with operational execution, helping organisations navigate complexity, unlock growth opportunities and deliver sustainable business performance in highly regulated and mission-critical environments.
About Dave Richardson
Dr Dave Richardson is a digital strategy and technology leader with extensive experience across defence, national security, critical national infrastructure, and the wider public sector. His career spans technical infrastructure, solutions architecture, enterprise architecture, digital strategy and CTO level leadership, including senior roles within secure and mission critical environments.
Dave specialises in aligning operational need, policy direction, and organisational capability to shape transformation across people, process, information, and technology. His expertise includes enterprise governance, platform strategy, service design, data, artificial intelligence and the strategic roadmaps required to deliver sustained change across institutional boundaries.
He has contributed to senior defence and industry forums and authored a range of strategic publications, including Vision 2030: Building a Resilient Future for UK Government and the subsequent Vision 2030 Foundations series. His work has addressed government digital transformation, Multi Domain Integration, the Digital Backbone, the Digital Targeting Web, artificial intelligence governance and the future of public services.
His current focus is on enabling greater coherence across government and defence by moving beyond isolated transformation programmes towards an interconnected digital ecosystem built on common platforms, trusted information flows and shared design principles.
