Standards Coordination Working Group
Standards Coordination Working Group
From a UK perspective, this working group is focused on the development of international standards and specifications which address ‘Information sharing related to Support’.
This includes but is not limited to the S-Series suite of Integrated Product Support (IPS) specifications and NATO ALP-10, which aims to provide general guidance on the policy, implementation and responsibilities for the application of Integrated Logistics Support. Other areas and standards include Long Term Archive and Retrieval (LOTAR), Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), the range within the Standards for the Exchange of Product Model Data (STEP) including Product Lifecycle Support (PLCS), Defence Standard 05-10 – Product Definition Information and the standards related to Systems Engineering and the Institute for Systems Engineering (IfSE)), especially ISO15288.
One purpose of the working group is to maintain a conduit between UK Defence, NATO and ASD. This will be a two-way interchange. The TD-Info Managing Director will provide updates on standards development via the work he performs with NATO and ASD, the trade association in Brussels. The working group can provide UK Defence input to the various standards and specifications working groups and act as a conduit for both Industry and MoD people who wish to participate in said working groups.
The working group is a part of the IPS Community of Practice.
