The Sustainable Defence Support Sub-Working Group (SDSp SWG) has been established, one of the LOGNET Sub-Working groups (others are Ai, Additive Manufacturing & Robotics & Automation). You are invited to find out more and register your interest by contacting Steve Green and join the SDSp SWG start up meeting on 29 April 2020. We all have a role to play in Sustainability and moving towards NZ50 targets.
The background to the SDSp SWG is that, in December 2019, Team Defence Information and Defence Logistics ran a workshop investigating the Support Implications of the Future Energy Environment.
The Sustainable Defence Support Sub-Working Group (SDSp SWG)s - announced at the LOGNET Event in March 2020 - aims to guide an accelerated development and exploitation path for sustainable, circular economy and carbon reduction activities across Defence Support . Its work will promote collaboration and mutually beneficial outcomes in the development of a sustainable Defence Support Network, the wider stakeholder touchpoints and Defence’s realisation of Net Zero 2050 (NZ50) targets.
Due to travel restrictions, the first meeting of the SDSp SWG is still to be planned. In the meantime, the SDSp SWG will stand up a task team to explore Sustainable Defence Support and produce a White Paper - download the mandate for this task.
We welcome your input to the White paper. If you would like to contribute to the White Paper, please register your interest and join the SDSp SWG start-up online meeting on 29 April 2020.
Information for this and the other Sub Working Groups can be found on the Team Defence Website under the Projects menu on the Home page. Also hear a TD-Info Podcast about a charity that is recyling IT equipment.
