Report on the 1st In-Van Conference
The First In-Van Conference on 18 October 2019, attracting 140 attendees, mostly early career professionals from nearly 60 companies and the MOD. TD-info coordinated this successful event in conjunction with the Ministry of Defence, Young Professionals in Defence, the Royal Aeronautical Society, the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association and the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI),
Hosted by Rolls-Royce and sponsored by Atkins, the In-Van Conference started with a keynote from AVM ‘Rocky’ Rochelle (the RAF’s Chief of Staff for Capability and Force Development) who shared his ambitions for the Rapid Capabilities Office and gave his take on the challenges facing air forces across the world. The recently confirmed co-chairs of the JIG-V Board – representatives from Industry, the MOD and the Defence Solution Centre – shared the Concept of Operations for JIG-V, identifying the proposed key projects for delivery comprising: mucaobile apps for defence, sustainability across the IT infrastructure and cyber in the supply chain.
At In-Vsn, the JIG-V Board outlined the overarching themes that will steer the JIG-V focus over the coming year, identifying three key areas where they will aim to contribute to thought leadership:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Skills & Diversity.
