Human Factors Integration: call for nominations for the H Rowbotham Memorial Award
This news story has been archived
The annual ‘H Award’ celebrates exemplary work in Human Factors Integration (HFI). Over the last seven years the award has been made to individuals who have been instrumental in advancing the theory and practice of HFI within Defence.
This year we are again seeking nominations for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional skills in the application of HFI practice within UK Defence and have demonstrated proven impact on project outcomes. This could include the development of methods, tools and techniques which underpin the application of HFI across the life-cycle of military systems (and systems of systems). The Award will be in the form of an inscribed annual trophy and a certificate. The judging panel will include representatives of MOD DE&S, MOD Dstl, the MOD-Industry HFI Steering and Liaison Groups, Cranfield University and Team Defence Information.
The nomination process comprises 2 stages: the first stage requires a short nomination using the form attached (max. 500 words). On the basis of information submitted, the judging panel will down-select to a shortlist (no more than 5) and request a more detailed case for shortlisted nominees (max. 3000 words).
Please email Stage 1 nominations using the attached form to: Laird Evans, DE&S, Internal Technical Support (ITS), Human Factors Integration Team: Laird.Evans151@mod.gov.uk.
The closing date for Stage 1 nominations is Friday 1st March 2019. Stage 2 nomination forms (detailed award cases) will be required to be submitted by Friday 31st May 2019.
