Joint Information Group announce JIG V initiative to challenge traditional thinking – Volunteers needed!

The first JIG-V Board Meeting was held at the TD-Info office on 27th August with 28 representatives from DE&S, ISS, DSTL, the Defence Solutions Centre and Industry. The Team Defence JIG Board has sponsored the creation of the JIG-Vanguard (JIG-V), a new group that will report directly to the JIG Steering Board. The JIG-V will be made up of new industry professionals from MOD and industry and will lead thinking on alternative future policy.  more

TD-Info 2019 Excellence Awards - Results Announced, with Leonardo Overall Winner

The chair of the judges announced the winner of the 2019 Excellence Award at Defence Information '19 event. It is Leonardo for piece of work entitled 'The Best Part to Print: A Process for Down-Selecting Parts for Additive Manufacturing (AM)'. The award was presented at DI'19 to Travis Chamberlain who was the author of this study which was one of the Good Practice Study Group 2018 projects. A summary of the resuts is available for download. Congratulations to all finalists and entrants to this year's Excellence Awards.

Turing Trust charity repurposes ICT kit for students in Africa: TD-Info member SBL is a great supporter

Meet members of Edinburgh-based charity the Turing Trust on their Stand at DI'19 (10 & qq April). They help students in sub-Saharan Africa by providing them with ICT equipment that's been 'recycled' from but unwanted (but serviceable) kit donated by companies in the UK. To date, the charity has repurposed over 4,200 PCs, enabling more than 41,000 students to gain a digital education. TD-Info member Software Box Ltd (SBL) is an active supporter of this charity.
