SUMMARY:Response to DSIS
DESCRIPTION:In March 2021\, the government published its Defence & Security Industrial Strategy (DSIS)\, which aims to develop a new relationship industry. Comments can either be in writing to Philippa Arter or at a hybrid event hosted at the Team Defence Information offices in the Briarlands Office Park on 5 January 2023\, with a Teams option for those unable to travel. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nRegister here

SUMMARY:Defence Supply Chain Strategy Industry Launch Event
DESCRIPTION:National Supply Chains have seen significant disruption due to both the Covid-19 pandemic and recent events in Ukraine. Such challenges have been no less acute for Defence and have necessitated a review of our supply-chain approach and the underpinning value proposition.   \nAccordingly\, Defence Support and Defence Commercial have worked together on the development of a Supply-Chain Strategy (SCS) that explores such themes and seeks to articulate how a ‘resilient by design’ Strategic Supply Chain needs to adapt to Global conditions. The Def SCS assumes such conditions will be enduring and proposes several conceptual head-marks to the way in which Defence approach Supply Chain outcomes and interactions with its commercial partners. \nThe Strategy will soon be made available on  GOV.UK \nThere will be an industry launch event on 17 November 2022\, the agenda is still being finalised but currently includes presentations from the Minister of Defence Procurement and Director Joint Support \nWhile physical attendance is by invitation only the presentations and Q&A will be live streamed. The teams link will be shared with all those who register. \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Register

SUMMARY:Additive Hack Launch & Networking Event
DESCRIPTION:Aim. Ahead of registration for the main FCG OIL AdM Hack this launch and networking event will provide an overview of the hack that will take place on the 3 & 4 April 23 and networking to allow for collaborative teams to form. \nFormat.  Following a presentation outlining the approach a speed dating format will be used so that all attendees can pitch to each other about their capabilities and exchange contact details.  After the event teams will be invited to register to take part in the Additive hack on 3 & 4 Feb 2023 \nContext. Recent operations in Ukraine have identified that the industrial manufacturing base of a nation is critical to success of future operations.  DE&S’ focus is moving away from large procurements to operations and is dependent on putting UK PLC on a campaign footing while the Defence Supply Chain Strategy is looking to create resilience through multiple points of near shore suppliers.  The concept of global logistic hubs provides the opportunity for production closer to point of consumption reducing the carbon footprint of distribution while inter regional supply in a star network configuration increase resilience. \nIntent. Exploit and demonstrate mature Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) High Value Manufacturing\, Digital Engineering\, and Additive Manufacturing Capabilities and how they can contribute to the realisation of Support Advantage. \nObjectives.  Using a diverse and dispersed team reverse engineer a part so that it has the same fit but has reduced weight and or part count. Demonstrate: \n\n            Image capture\n            File transfer\n            Collaborative design \n            File conversion CAD to SWL\n            Additive production\n            Part reduction and or light weighting of an item\n\nNote: the part will not be assessed functional or from a safety certification and is ther fore only a protype not for use. \nWho Should Attend.   \n\nIndustry Attendees.  The hack event will be limited to ten teams.  Only a limited number from each team will be in teh i-bridge. Others will operate at reach \nMOD Attendees.  A member of each organisation involved in the development of Additive will be invited ot join each indsutry team.  Other members of MOD will be invite to vitas the I-bridge to renege with teh teams and see additive and digital engineering technologies in action.\n\nTeam Composition \n\n1 MOD plus 2 in the i-bridge to select and scan on for more items\nReach back to Design engineers and Additive production capabilities\n\n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Register to attend
