SUMMARY:MOD IPS Transition Working Group
DESCRIPTION:This sub working group is open to all interested parties that would like the opportunity to assist the Ministry of Defence transition to IPS and the ASD S-Series. There will be some complicated issues to discuss and resolve that would not likely be possible without the collective mindset and experience from the members of TDI. This sub working group will be held on a regular basis and will be fundamental to the MOD transition from ILS to IPS by September 2024. However this will not be a talking shop for any perceived issues or wished technical amendments to the ASD S-Series\, its focus is solely on MOD adoption. Ryan Griffin (MOD IPS Transition Project Manager) and Mark Willis (CDS Defence & Security) will be the respective MOD and industry chairs. \nPlease contact Leyton Lark for further information. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nRegister here

SUMMARY:Defence Modelling & Simulation Office (DMSO) - Industry Engagement Workshops
DESCRIPTION:Please note – Expressions of Interest and security details must be submitted before 15th December. \nRegister Interest – Link\nSubmit Security Details – Link\nA new TD-info supported MOD Defence Modelling and Simulation Centre (DMSO) industry engagement workshops has now been announced. \nThe Defence Modelling and Simulation Office (DMSO) – sits within UK StratCom Joint Warfare with pan-Defence responsibilities. DMSO provides improved coordination and coherence of MOD M&S activity to promote both VfM and improved M&S capability across the Defence Enterprise. It ‘champions’ the role of Modelling & Simulation (M&S)\, informs and advocates policy\, and exploits opportunities for greater cost-effectiveness and consistency through the sharing of M&S knowledge and resources. DMSO will promote and create partnerships with Industry\, Academia\, OGDs and International Partners to secure these aims. \nAn industry wide investigation and advice task into the DMSO Defence Synthetic Environment Programme (DSEP) will look at: What should a pan-Defence M&S Ecosystem be? What should it deliver? How should it deliver? \nDMSO are seeking a comprehensive view from industry on how to increase the use and effectiveness of M&S across Defence from R&D through to Operations. What does MOD need to do to enable industry to deliver more effectively and to be more agile. \nDMSO are looking for an industry perspective across three different levels using focused workshops at this event on: \n\nWorkshop on Strategic Development – Partners To design\, build\, integrate and deliver the solutions & components for a cohesive pan-Defence M&S ecosystem delivered via DSEP.\nWorkshop on Service Partners – Vendors who can provide M&S data\, components\, services\, and applications to meet current and future needs.\nWorkshop on Solution Partners – Companies and end users who should benefit from DSEP to deliver more effective solutions into Defence\, whether that’s R&D\, T&E\, Training or Operations\n\nRegister for your chosen workshop via the links to the side of the page \n \nWhy get involved? \nYour contribution will enable you to understand the direction of travel from within Defence\, shape\, influence and assist MOD in its future direction for Modelling & Simulation. \nThere is also the opportunity to work as part of a team with equally capable and knowledgeable organisations within Defence and the wider digital community. \nThis is an opening for wider industry experience and best practice to be showcased within the Defence environment. \nThis will enable: \n\nUnderstanding of how focus areas will interact to realise a future end state.\nArticulation of requirements for Modelling & Simulation capability across the enterprise\nDevelopment of capability roadmaps\nAlignment\, pull through and learning from representative Modelling & Simulation capabilities.\nAssessment of potential system solutions and recommendations for future development\n\nDemonstrate and influence the current and future state of Modelling & Simulation within MOD and industry partners: \n\nAs development partners\nAs data\, application and or service providers\nAs end users for capability delivery\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Workshop on Strategic Development\n \n Workshop on Service Partners\n \n Workshop on Solution Partners

SUMMARY:Natural Capital & Infrastructure Community of Practice Launch
DESCRIPTION:The Natural Capital & Infrastructure (NC&I) Community of Practice \nThe topic \nTeam Defence has defined this in a Defence enterprise perspective as looking and focusing on Natural capital\, which is the world’s stock of natural resources\, which includes geology\, soils\, air\, water\, and all living organisms. Some natural capital assets provide people with free goods and services\, often called ecosystem services and Infrastructure – the basic physical and organisational structures and facilities (e.g. buildings\, roads\, power supplies) needed for the operation of a society or enterprise. \nHow we operate \n\nOur community of practice (CoP) is a group of people who share a common concern\, a set of problems\, or an interest in a topic and who come together to fulfil both individual and group goals.\nCommunities of practice often focus on sharing best practices and creating new knowledge to advance a domain of professional practice. Interaction on an ongoing basis is an important part of this.\nOur community of practice relies on face-to-face meetings as well as web-based collaborative environments to communicate\, connect and conduct community activities.\n\nWhy get involved? \n Your contribution will enable you to understand the direction of travel from within Defence\, shape\, influence and assist MOD in its future direction for Natural Capital & Infrastructure. There is also a connection to work as part of a team with equally capable and knowledgeable organisations within Defence and the wider digital community. This is an opportunity for wider industry experience and best practice to be showcased within the Defence environment. \nThis will enable: \n\nUnderstanding of how focus areas will interact to realise a future end state.\nArticulation of requirements for capability across the enterprise\nDevelopment of capability roadmaps\nAlignment\, pull through and learning from representative capabilities.\n\nAssessment of potential solutions and recommendations for future development \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nRegister\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nAgenda
