SUMMARY:Digital Twin Community of Practice – Flares Investigation Tasks
DESCRIPTION:What this is – This a new TD-info\, industry\, and MOD collaboration project to define and demonstrate the viability of Digital Twin benefits for MOD countermeasures (Flares). \nWhy? – The field of Digital Twins as a whole hold’s incredible possibilities within the entire Defence landscape. In the case of air countermeasures – specifically flares – the ability for them to provide a decoy is a well-established concept and has been in service in the RAF since the 1960s with the Vulcan bomber. Not only is it relevant for today as a countermeasure\, but it will also be relevant for the foreseeable future. Digital simulations and representations of flares systems have the potential to provide the MOD with an improved design\, test\, evaluation and through life support capability for its countermeasure assets. MOD have selected five topics for the Digital Twin Community of Practice to help them understand new approaches. \nProject Strands Statement of Requirements will be briefed by MOD on… \n\nStrand 1: Safety Trace\nStrand 2: Environmental Testing Review\nStrand 3: Consultation over Design of Experiments\nStrand 4a: Composition – Combustion Modelling\nStrand 4b: Dynamics Of Mixing\nStrand 5: Asset Tracking\n\nHow and When – The full briefing via ‘Teams’ by TDI and MOD Project Strand Task Leads is on Thursday 19th October\, 9:30 – 13:30. Please follow the link at the side of the page to register. \nWhy get involved? – Your contribution will enable you to understand the direction of travel from within Defence\, shape\, influence and assist towards MOD countermeasure development. There is also an event to work as part of a Team with equally capable and knowledgeable organisations within Defence and the wider digital community. This is also an opportunity for other industry experience and best practice to be showcased within the Defence environment. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Register here

SUMMARY:Gladiator - Defence Operational Training Capability (Air) Innovation Workshop
DESCRIPTION:PHYSICAL EVENT ONLY TO BE HELD AT THE DEFENCE ACADEMY SHRIVENHAM\, FARINGTON ROAD\, SHRIVENHAM SN6 8LA.  PLACES ARE LIMITED TO 25. \nThe DOTC capability\, known as Gladiator\, was announced by the Minister for Defence Procurement in May 2019. Since then\, work has ramped up on this innovative programme and the military are looking at how it could meet the synthetic training needs of various platforms. \nThrough incremental acquisition\, Gladiator will evolve allowing the UK to undertake synthetic training for air\, land and maritime forces\, all on a secure network and safe in the knowledge that the training cannot be observed by adversaries. \nTeam Defence Information and the Air Command DOTC(A) Programme Team are pleased to launch a new working group to explore how an innovative approach can be taken to better exploit the opportunity better use of data offers synthetic training in the air domain. \nAs more and more training moves into the synthetic domain it becomes paramount that data exploitation is maximised and enabled through efficient process\, policy and procedures. During this initial one-day workshop participants will be asked to share their knowledge and experience to identify areas of further exploration. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nAgenda
