SUMMARY:Critical Raw Materials for Defence: Online Snack Series - Session 3
DESCRIPTION:The recent Critical Raw Materials for Defence Report we published\, outlines a proposed framework for enhancing Critical Raw Materials resilience in the UK Defence sector through circular economy principles and recycling. Our aim was to contribute to the development of the UK’s industrial strategy and ensure Defence has a strong voice in this important area. As the financial settlement process moves forward\, we’re keen to keep the conversation active. \nJoin us for the Snack Series—a rapid-fire set of expert-led sessions that dive into the most urgent challenges and strategic opportunities across the UK’s critical materials ecosystem. \nFrom policy to platforms\, e-waste to innovation funding\, this series brings together voices across government\, industry\, and academia to shape a more circular\, resilient\, and sovereign defence future. \nWhy Attend?• Get insights into policy\, innovation\, and supply chain resilience• Hear from leaders shaping the future of defence and critical materials• Connect across disciplines—from recyclers and researchers to strategists and policymakers \nEach session features a 20-minute presentation from leading organisations\, followed by a 40-minute panel Q&A. Sessions will explore:• Global supply chain risks• UK capability and innovation• Priority Defence use cases \nContent will focus on real insights and lessons—not sales pitches—with case studies encouraged. No prior defence knowledge required; many challenges are cross-sector. \nWhy It MattersNew mining is costly\, slow\, and environmentally challenging. Reclaiming materials from end-of-life equipment could offer a faster\, cheaper\, and greener path. Let’s mine our waste—not the planet. \nGet Involved \nJoin the conversation. Shape the future. Spread the word. \nWant to stay informed or take part? Sign up now to receive invites and materials \nBy signing up you will receive diary invites to these sessions and will also receive invites to any subsequent workstreams/presentations. \nIf you would like further information please contact steve.green@teamdefence.info \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nSubscribe here\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nSustainable Circular Economics for Defence Concept Note\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n2024 Criticality Assessment\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nThe Innovation Imperative\, Bridging the Supply Demand Gap for Critical Raw Material by 2030

SUMMARY:Critical Raw Materials for Defence: Online Snack Series - Session 11
