SUMMARY:Data Quality Workshop (Sea)
DESCRIPTION:Team Defence Information\, working with the National Armaments Director Group\, are planning to hold three (Air\, Land & Sea) joint MOD / Defence Industry data quality workshops in September and October 2026. \n Workshops Purpose & Aims \n\nEnsure better quality data flows from Industry to the MoD and vice versa.\nBetter understand the extent to which poor quality data supplied by the MoD impacts Industry in the delivery of their contracts.\nUnderstand how Industry currently manages poor quality data it receives (for example whether issues are resolved in‑house\, referred to delivery teams\, ignored\, or escalated in line with contractual routes).\n\n The Workshops Will Enable \n\nShared evidence and examples of data quality issues and their impacts.\nMap current behaviours\, responsibilities\, and escalation routes when poor data is encountered.\nIdentify priority issues that should be addressed at source.\nDevelop practical options for contractual\, governance and process improvements.\n\nLongterm Aims \n\nIdentify how data quality issues can best be resolved at source rather than managed downstream.\nExplore what contractual requirements could be introduced to define data quality thresholds on data supplied by both Industry and the MoD\, including potential changes to extant DEFCONs and DEFSTANs.\nUnderstand how data quality improvements can be incorporated into existing programmes to address current issues and prevent poor quality data being shared going forward.\nTo drive better quality data at the point of exchange between MoD and Industry\, so that contractual delivery\, assurance and MI reporting are based on information that is accurate\, consistent\, timely and fit for decision-making.\n\n Industry Engagement\nIndustry participation is key to understanding the real-world impact of poor data quality within live contracts\, including where it creates additional effort\, uncertainty\, repeated clarification\, manual checking\, reformatting or downstream rework. By grounding the workshops in practical delivery experience rather than assumptions\, Industry input will help MoD better understand how data issues arise and are managed\, and where clearer expectations\, responsibilities or more consistent ways of working could make the process easier for both sides. \nWe are therefore seeking members who would be interested in participating in the workshops. \n Workshop Attendance \nWe are planning for the attendance of up to 40 personnel which includes 15 people participating from MOD. Due to the expected demand for these workshops\, we will be applying a ‘first come first serve’ approach aiming for 1 person per company. \n Workshop Dates\, Timing & Venue \nThe duration of each workshop would be 10.00 to 14.00\, with lunch provided. The venue will be in the Severnside Suite\, Thornbury Active Conference Centre\, BS35 3JB. \n23rd Sept (Air) \n29th Sept (Land) \n8th Oct(Sea) \n Key Contacts \nTim Donovan – National Armaments Director Data Quality Manager Tim.Donovan846@mod.gov.uk \nMatt James – National Armaments Logistics & Support Lead Data Steward Matthew.James156@mod.gov.uk \nAdrian Page TD-info Data Quality Community of Practice Facilitator adrian.page@teamdefence.info \nKelly Gough TD-Info event Planner kelly.gough@teamdefence.info \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nRegister here

SUMMARY:ICEF/Information Security Forum
DESCRIPTION:This meeting will cover the agendas for both the ICEF and the Information Security Forum. \nThe ICEF fulfils two roles: it represents the interests of industry consumers of MOD information and\, secondly\, acts as an advisory change management board for those users of MOD products and services operating outside the MOD estate. Organisationally\, the ICEF is managed under the TD-Info Delivery Continuity Executive and reports to TD-Info MD. \nThe ICEF brings together individuals from Industry partners who have day-to-day responsibility for using – or managing the provision of – MOD-delivered services. This function is managed collaboratively with representatives from the MOD Defence Digital Customer Management team responsible for ‘Indirect’ (i.e. non-MOD) customers. Defence Digital (DD) recognises that Industry represents a significant proportion – roughly one third – of total users of DD-delivered IS/IT. Taking a risk management approach\, the ICEF identifies opportunities to improve awareness of\, and mitigation for\, availability issues that might impact adversely on Defence outcomes. \nThe TD-Info ICEF lead: \n\nmanages a 6-weekly (approx..) rhythm of meetings for ICEF members\nliaises\, as Industry representative on the MOD 1* Customer Board\nconducts a regular drumbeat with DD ACOS Plans and Customer Services team\nprioritises risks/issues affecting suppliers’ ability to deliver against agreed contracts\nidentifies mitigation activities for MOD consideration.\nMaintains the ICEF risk register\npublishes services-to-industry product descriptions and supporting management processes\n\nIn support of the DCE\, the ICEF lead manages the change process for MOD-originated information services. Specific activities include: \n\nimproving awareness of planned changes to MOD-supplied information flows\, applications\, products and services for the Industry customer\nidentify potential impact on industry and work with MOD ICEF members to identify options for mitigating the consequences of the proposed (or executed) change\nco-ordinate industry inputs and manage the resolution of unplanned/unforeseen events that impact project delivery\nescalate major issues or observations to the DD Customer Board and/or DD ACOS Plans. Conversely risks or issues may also be escalated to the DSF via the DCE\n\nThe purpose of the Information Security Forum (ISF) is to provide better ways of working securely across Team Defence by identifying key issues and agreeing on common approaches to resolution by sharing good practice\, collaborating on accreditation standards\, providing a practical (and compliant) interpretation of Government policy\, and sharing event and near-miss data. \nThe ISF collaboratively develops guidance\, influences policy and communicates key messages to members and\, where appropriate\, broader stakeholders on Information Security and Assurance matters. \nThis meeting will be held In-person at TD-Info Offices and virtually using Microsoft Teams. Group members will be sent the link to join the meeting. \nThese are both closed groups\, however if you wish to participate or would like further information please contact Andy Corbett
