SUMMARY:DAIC Robot Dog Hackathon
DESCRIPTION:Are you a digital native innovator with strong programming or Dev Op skills?  This is your chance to collaborate. \nJoin a diverse team from across Defence\, industry and academia to employ robotic dogs powered by software and AI you will create.  Use your skills and experience to complete a realistic challenge supporting our counter-improvised explosive device (IED) colleagues in the Army.  \nThe Defence Artificial Intelligence Centre (DAIC)\, in partnership with the Expeditionary Robotics Centre of Expertise (ERCoE) is pleased to host the Robot Dog Hackathon on 7-9 November 23 at the BattleLab in Dorset.  Supported by Team Defence Information\, the event will bring together people from across the Ministry of Defence (MOD)\, industry and academia to work in teams to overcome a real-world Defence challenge. \nYou can be part of a specialist multi-disciplinary team to employ robotic dogs using open-source artificial intelligence (AI) and code to autonomously complete a hypothetical counter Improvised Explosive Device (IED) use case. \nDo you have the skills\, architecture\, tools and techniques that MOD will need to develop future Robotic and Autonomous Systems capabilities? \nWho should register? \nTeams should be diverse and bring expertise and knowledge from outside as well as inside the defence sector. It is anticipated that teams will need a range of expertise and experience including but not limited to: \n\n Agile Development\n Solution Architecting\n Software Development\n Robotics\n Data Science\n\nThose working in the MOD (including innovation teams)\, industry\, academia and experts in related sectors with matching skillsets are invited to sign-up.  Register as a team or individually and we’ll help form teams to facilitate networking and knowledge sharing.  Knowledge of the defence sector is not a requirement.    \nPlease note the event is not intended for sales and business development representatives. \nRegistration \nWe ask all applicants to complete a few questions to help us better understand your skills and experience. Diversity in the teams is important and we do not expect applicants to all skills and experiences listed\, but a broad range of expertise will stand you in good stead.
