Non-TD-Info Event: MOD Autonomy S&T Collaboration Review 2019 – SME Searchlight

Thursday 11th July 2019

Location : Bristol area - to be confirmed on registration

Time : 09:00 to 17:00

What’s Going On?

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) Autonomy Science & Technology (S&T) Collaboration Review 2019 hosted by Dstl is a unique opportunity to present your capability, gain an oversight of defence and security autonomous systems and autonomy research, and engage with MOD stakeholders and defence suppliers. This year we are delighted to be able to open the event up to a wider range of suppliers as part of the SME Searchlight programme.

Objective

The objective of the event is to identify collaboration and exploitation opportunities by bringing the Defence and Security autonomy and autonomous systems enterprise together and further develop the network of industry and academia that support Defence and Security.

Overview

Dstl are hosting a one day event on Thursday 11th July at a new location in Bristol. This event will, through a series of presentations and networking poster sessions, provide attendees with an overview of current cutting edge work in the area of autonomy and autonomous systems research and development and the direction of the Dstl Autonomy Research programme. The event provides an excellent opportunity for researchers, SMEs, defence primes and Dstl to showcase their work, create and identify collaboration and exploitation opportunities.

The event presents latest research on defence and security autonomy and autonomous systems. Consequently, it aims to bring MOD’s research into focus and provides a fantastic opportunity to bring the low Technology Readiness Level (TRL) research, core research and stakeholder communities together.

Application to attend

Places are limited to organisations undertaking (directly or indirectly) autonomous systems or autonomy related projects, research or development that may be applicable to the MOD. Apply by sending an email to AutonomyEvent2019@dstl.gov.uk with ‘Searchlight’ in the subject line, and include a short description of why your company is appropriate. There are 50 places for suppliers available as part of the SME Searchlight programme; we will send confirmation as soon as possible.

Project Summaries and Poster Presentations

All are invited to give a relevant autonomy or autonomous systems project/technology summary presentation, which will be limited to 5 minutes, with 2 questions only. It is suggested that slides are kept to a bare minimum and follow the template: objectives, approach, benefits and future requirements. Multiple project presentations will have a combined time slot allocation. Presentations will be grouped by theme.
Project posters, or a 2.5 foot wide pop-up banner, are welcome at the networking sessions.
Presentations and posters (ppt or pdf) need to be submitted in advance by COP 5th July 2019.

Suppliers are encouraged to bring display items to support their presentations / posters.
