Business Modernisation for Support (BMfS) workshop (4th Oct) & follow-up

For more detailed information download the Industry Engagement for BMfS User Requirements Document.  To join the session (members only) get the details from HERE.

This Business Modernisation for Support (BMfS) workshop enables Defence Logistics to capture the Industry view of how information services should work in the light of DSN Transformation, DSN(T), and the evolving pattern of how suppliers participate in the delivery of supply, engineering and transportation.

Purpose of the workshop It enables Defence Logistics to capture the Industry view of how information services should work in the light of Defence Support Netowrk Transformation, DSN(T), and the evolving pattern of how suppliers participate in the delivery of supply, engineering and transportation.

Scope of the workshop Following a brief re-cap of DSN(T), the workshop will involve the participants identifying current issues and opportunities that can be addressed by the enhanced information capability being offered by the BMfS programme. These issues and opportunities can address any of the constituent functions of the DSN (i.e. supply, engineering, transportation or logistics management & common services1).

The DSN(IS) transformation themes are a starting point for thinking about specific issues and opportunities but participants are welcome to identify input that addresses any other relevant theme.

For each issue or opportunity, the participants will write a narrative that describes the issue or opportunity. This narrative will be more useful when identifying specific users (roles or types of organisation), activities, decisions, information objects and information sources that are involved or affected.

Follow-up  Based on the analysis of the workshop inputs into structured format, they will be returned (with any clarification questions as necessary) for review by the originator.
